For their 26th season, I worked with the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival on executing their festival campaign across print, digital, video, and event installation contexts. The awards show graphics and programme guide were particular highlights — both documented here.

Following the festival team’s bold and vibrant vision with a focus on the collective power of community for its 26th season, I created a distinct identity and motion graphics for the festival’s awards show. Animating across the show’s opening sequence, transitions, lower thirds, title cards, and credits, a patchwork of typographic “characters” reflect the bold and spontaneous energy of the festival and the myriad voices that shape it.

As a physical archive and popular piece of memorabilia, the festival publication unveiled the programming and creative vision of the 26th season. Drawing from Bree Jiang's illustration work for the festival, I designed a comprehensive layout and typographic system that adapts water ripples, fish, and dragon scales to dance across the book's pages amongst all the filmmakers, artists, and events that make up the festival.
